What power output should I set to charger?

I have universal notebook AC adapter (Omega brand) 48W, it has settings for 9,5V up to 24V. Battery says 11.1V 2.53Ah.

When charging battery indicator light is on but it wont turn on. (set to16V) but when i plug directly in notebook it can boot.

HDD heats a lot and i suspect it the most but i am not sure. When i boot w/o battery from usb drive its much faster.

So what V should be set? And why wont notebook turn on with battery that LED light is indicating as charging? (Charging = orange light Full = Blue or vice versa )

Hi @albert0 ,

The specifications for a power adapter for a Lenovo S10e are

Input: AC 100-240V, 50-60Hz

Output: DC 20V 2A

Power: 40W

Therefore your adapter should be set to 20VDC. Presumably it can supply 2A (2000mA) of current as you say it can supply 48W @ 24V

Here is a link to the service manual for your IdeaPad.

Scroll to p.29 to view how to test the adapter's output to verify that the correct voltage is present.

Hopefully this is of some help
