My HD not mounting after new install. What could be the problem?

I just installed a WD3200bekt HD in my MacBook Pro 15" 2.2Ghz A1226 laptop because I just wanted some more room. After the install the Disk Utility could not see the new HD so I could not partition it. I checked all of the connections and they seemed fine but still had the same problem when I used disc utility from the boot disc. I then reinstalled the old HD and am now not even able to see it either. I have no idea how to approach this problem. Again my old drive was working fine when I took it out for the new install. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Was the old hard drive working before you started?

Yes it was working fine. I just needed a bigger HD.

Chosen Solution

Hard Drive Flex Cable, Apple part number 922-8045

Check both connections on the hard drive and logic board. Unless you zapped something, that's the only thing it can be.
