Nylon, Stainless Steel, and Brass brush differences

Hello,

I went to the store to purchase I nylon brush for general cleaning purposes (game consoles/PCs cases). Along with the nylon brush came a stainless steel and brass brush.

I was just wondering if there were any advantages to using either of those two brushes on anything? Are either of them particularly better for certain things?

Thanks,

Trevor Corbin

Hello Trevor

The advantages of the nylon brush is that its more delicate than the metal brushes. In areas that have a lot of soldered-on components like iPhone Logic-boards they become extremely useful for cleaning corrosion. The meal brushes are great but the bristles are stiffer than the nylon. You can unintentionally remove components or scratch paint if you are not careful. In your application I would buy the nylon as they wont scratch the paint off your console/PC case.

Awesome! Thanks! What are the stainless steel and brass brushes usually used for by most, just out of curiosity?

They are used for removing substances that need a little more elbow grease.
