Can I upgrade my core without changing motherboard.

So im running a core i5 and im in middle of upgrading my pc and before i bought everything i wanted to know if i can upgrade to an i7 without changing my motherboard.

You'll need to first lookup your CPU on Intels web site: Intel ARK - CPU's. Then you can see what CPU's are of the same series as yours. At one time it was easy as Intel was using the same socket, today their are a few different sockets for the i series chips.

So depending on what your system has for a socket your options will be limited to them CPU's that fit it.
