Why won't my touch screen work after battery change?

Changed the battery in my Iphone 5C and it turned on ok and the battery charged, but the touch screen isn't working. Can't even put in my pass-code. Any suggestions?”

Chances are the touch screen ribbon flex cable from the screen has become damaged.

You can try replugging the screen connections while the battery is unplugged.

If that does not help then unfortunately the screen needs to be replaced.

This is unlikely but long screw damage may cause this issue as well.

Long screw damage is when you put a longer than usual screw into a screw hole that sits on the logic board.

If the screw goes through the board it damages the circuit traces which can even make the phone a dead paperweight.
