Right side of Display screen is half black right through the apple

I was working on my mac and all of a sudden the display went black on the right hand side, previously it had 2 faint red lines in it at tiimes

Sounds like you have lost one of the CCFL backlight tubes in your LCD. Please look on the bottom of your stand for information on which machine you have and give that to us so we can direct you to the correct repair guides and parts. Thanks
