I have recently just broken my phone screen on my galaxy s8 edge. I was wondering if I would have to get everything under the screen fixed or if I can get by with just fixing the screen. It's overall a good phone. Thanks!

As with other modern Galaxy phones, the glass and LCD are one piece, and incredibly difficult to separate. The effort to get to the LCD and remove it is also difficult, You have to disassemble from the back to get to everything to disconnect the display.

Wouldn't it be easier to keep it all separate to make a repair like this cheaper? why do they make it one piece?
It may be cheaper if you already have the equipment, but you also need skill to separate the glass and not break the LCD. You would have to invest in a UV light and worry about a lot of other things like permanent bubbles between the glass and LCD. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwwKim90...
