Try running the Dell diagnostic test on your laptop to get a better idea of what isn't working properly. Your battery, power supply or motherboard may have failed. The only way to isolate which one is causing your problem would be to do some testing. The easiest way to do this is with the onboard Dell diagnostic software.

Restart your laptop and tap 'F12' as soon as the Dell logo appears. Select 'Diagnostics' using up/down arrow keys and press enter.

This will test all of the components in your laptop. you can let the entire test run its course, or you can hit "ESC" on the keyboard and manually select the motherboard, battery or power adapter. Which ever you choose, select "test" on the bottom right hand corner to begin testing. You may also want to select the "thorough test mode" check box. You can see your results in the results or log tab on the top most part of the page.

Good luck.
