I have a Garmin 50LM. When typing the name of a state, example, I'll type "M", all states with an M appear except Michigan. Same thing with the letter C, California doesn't appear. This has happened to 2 Garmin GPS.

It sounds like not all the maps downloaded.
I would say put in a micro SD card into the GPS (8gb is more than enough).
Connect that GPS device into a computer that has "Garmin Express" installed.
There should be an option to load/reload all maps.
Try doing so and see if you still have the same problem.

Tried that. It downloaded maps successfully, acknowledged that all maps are up to date.......Same problem still exists
