Turning up display brightness makes phone glitch

So I've recently swapped out a logic board on my old 5s and replaced it with a friends board however, after putting his logic board in we came into a problem whereby if we increase the display brightness the phone would become unresponsive and you would have to put it on standby mode and power it back on to regain responsiveness. In the scenario that you would put it up to full brightness the screen would darken and lines would appear.

Any reason as to why this would happen? The display assembly was working completely fine when I had it for well over a year.. It's also good to note that I had the phone on for a whole week before he got the phone and entered his password and from there we saw the issue.

Screens can go bad just from taking it out from a phone. It's very rare but it happens.

Lines appearing usually mean either damaged ribbon cable or screen LCD ribbon cable not connected fully to logic board.

The wierd thing is that the lines only start to appear after half the total brightness, the more brightness the more lines. If you stay below half, it will work perfectly fine. Also there’s no auto brightness toggle in settings - iOS 10

The auto brightness toggle was moved under another area in settings.

If I'm correct its settings, general, accessibility, display, auto brightness.

Hey Ben it’s running iOS 10

Oh, if its iOS 10, then I'm not sure what's going on.
