Home button pressed in pocket after screen replacement

So I followed the guide with ifixit's spare LCD assembly as my glass was cracked.

I've done a few of these before to great success, but this time, the phone now acts like the home button has been pressed in my pocket, causing incorrect password entries and even emergency calls as I'm walking along

Completely stripped it down and replaced the home button onto my old (cracked) screen and it works fine, no phantom button presses whilst walking along. As soon as I put it back on the ifixit screen, it keeps activating the screen again.

Dodgy screen?

You'll need to carefully inspect the Home Button and it's flex cable to insure there isn't any damage or that it wasn't incorrectly assembled/installed. Use this guide as a reference.
