Why Won't My LCD Display Show An Image?

My Macbook Pro display isn't showing an image. The screens back light works, the computer is operational when using an external display, and even after installing a new display I have the same problem.

I read something about it being a problem with updating the OS, so I reformatted my drive and reinstalled from a back up but that did not fix the issue.

Does anybody have any other things I can try before I look at changing out the logic board?

[currently running Mac OS 10.11 El Capitan]

Answer this question I have this problem too

I would try resetting the NVRAM following this Apple T/N: How to reset NVRAM on your Mac. See if that helps, let us know.

Unfortunatley resetting the NVRAM did not solve my problem. Thanks for the idea.
