Panasonic TXP50VT30B 8 blinks

Just replaced the SUS board TNPA5335 in my 50 inch LED TV because of the 7 blinks problem. The new board gave me 7 blinks as well. So part of my diags was to switch on with the ribbon cable detached from that board. That gave me 8 blinks. But now with the ribbon cable reseated I still get 8 blinks on power-up. I can't even get it back to 7 blinks again. Wish I knew what to do next, or which part is at fault. Any suggestions?

Update: When I put the old board back in it goes back to 7 blinks...so maybe the new board is fine and I have a second issue. What does the 8 blinks mean?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Thanks oldturkey so I replaced the SS board. The replacement even has the correct model number written on the back with permanent marker: TX-P50VT30B but I have the same issue. The TV is so close to coming on but cuts out at the last instant and goes to 8 blinks. Reseated the boards and ribbons a few times but no joy. I ordered another replacement in case that was a DoA, but I don't have much faith that it will make the difference. Anyone think of another reason for 8 blinks? Or for why the TV thinks SS board is dead? I really want to rescue it from the Panny graveyard.
