Microsoft Surface Ergonomic Keyboard change alcantara hand rest

Hi everyone,

is it possible the change the alcantara part of the Surface Ergonomic Keyboard?

I'm using the keyboard for a couple of days and it already looks quite dirty :(

If you've removed the alcantara could you post a photo of what's underneath it? I'm using water and foam cleaner to clean it, but want to know the risk of getting internal components wet.

But as "final" solution i would like to replace the alcantara with a thin black leather or something like that.
