Why is screen only responsive if detached from iPhone 6?

Hello I recently replaced the entire LCD with the metal rear plate as the home button wire needed repair as well. After this repair, the screen doesn’t work when affixed back on the phone, it only works when it’s separated from it, just sitting on top. What could this be? All the lines are absolutely attached.

I will check disconnect the home screen and reinstall....this is the second screen i replace on this phone from the same vendor. First screen only the corners worked on the screen, this one it only works when its detached from the frame...go figure, I feel like it may be some conductivity thing?

If it works while sitting on top of the phone but doesn't work when pressed into place it sounds like flex cables have been damaged or are faulty

Thanks Danny, if I was super careful with the flex cables, how in the heck could they be damaged? Just trying to figure it out so I can tell the seller and ask for a refund I guess.

They could be faulty before you even fitted the screen, so a manufacturer defect if you like. I've experienced the same issues in the past and was wondering the same. When the screen is sitting on top the flex cables aren't compressed as they are when screen is fitted into place. The inside of the flex cable is very delicate and I'd say the cable is faulty. Try a new screen and this should resolve you problem. It has with me on occasions.

I would go with faulty / damaged LCD screen cables or screen just being faulty.

I wonder if this still occurs with the home button cable unplugged?
