screen is unresponsive to my touch.

Bought iFixit awesome kit for changing battery and followed the guide

Everything went on properly until I was about to reassemble connectors.

I lost the 1.3mm PH#000 and could not find it :=(

I reassembled without this 1 screw. After hard reset the display looks like this

Hi,

There could be many things wrong here but here are the main things that could have happened:

  • You haven't put the connectors in correctly, take apart the phone by taking the screen off (be sure to unplug the battery before getting into the phone) and then re-connect the connectors. Make sure they click in place
  • If that doesn't work it could be long screw damage. This is very nasty and happens when you over tighten the screws when you are putting the metal bracket back on. Did you hear any clicks when tightening?

Missing one screw wouldn't this however also putting the wrong screw into a different hole may cause long screw damage as well. When doing the first step and taking the bracket off, have a look at what screws are coming out of the holes. Have a look at the image below and you can measure the screws with a calliper to make sure it's the right screw

Your 1st suggestion was correct, bad connection was the issue. Now I have a 5S in mint condition :=) it will last for another 5 years I hope!

Your answer saved my day, thanks!
