A white screen is indicative of either failing hard drive, corrupt system folder or a failing hard drive/IR cable issue. There are know issues, so please tell us your exact machine and what OS X you are running. Also if you have recently updated or upgraded your system, have virus protection or updated any software or any accident happened to it.

UPDATE

Replace your hard drive/IR cable with this one: MacBook Pro 13" Unibody (Mid 2012) Hard Drive Cable

On some models the hard drive retaining bracket has to be modded to accommodate the wider cable.

I was get it too, after instaling high sierra from elcapitan on my macbook pro early 2011 with HDD. After download and instaling success the system require to reboot. After reboot and apple logo loading bar, it stucked in whitescreen. Any shortcut didnt give me good news. I cant access disk utility, internet recovery, recovery volume, usb osx instaler for downgrade and reinstal, etc. High sierra made my mac broken. Hate it !. When i click power + option only show macOs instaler volume.

This happened to me. Sierra has caused me nothing but problems.

My early 2011 MBP 15" HDD is also experiencing the exact same issues that you listed. Every time I try to boot up in recovery mode, safe mode, disk utility, internet recovery, etc. it refuses to work and I often hear beeping sounds and/or a dark blue screen with vertical black lines.

I was finally able to revert back to the previous os version by inserting the original OS disk in the drive and forcing it to show the Utilities screen where I performed a disk repair and was able to get it to finally boot up. I just tried to update to the newest high sierra again, and it's still broken. (The update I'm referring to is the 10.13.4 version, by the way.)

If anyone has figured out a resolution to this, it would be very much appreciated!

I was do some research and borrow my mbp to technician, and i relize that it was really suck trouble that apple ever made. This issue was globaly problem around the world as bad quality product, specially for mbp early 2011 with 15 inci display with AMD + intel got VGA broken, Many people got this although apple give solution to change new logic board free to user but now the time is out. And the service was close.

So the last solution in my case is to reball the mbp, but its not the best way. Cause the AMD must be killed and only using the intel. The power status would be going down and cant be use for hard work. Only office activity. Word, excel, typing etc.
