Hi I put a charger in USB port when I went to take it out it made a crackling noise and went off it now won't switch back on any help would be appreciated it's a lg 42" smart TVs thanks

@robson12 this will depend on what model your TV is. It is possible that your USB port is meant for firmware updates and not necessarily the same way as a USB port on another device.

I'm not sure how you did this. The TV presumably has a USB A socket and a charger normally also has a USB A socket, if not a mini or micro USB plug. The only way you could connect them together is with a USB A plug to plug cable. Not something you could do by accident.
You'll need to take the back off the TV and see if you can see something showing signs of overheating or burning. If you post a photo we may be able to advise.

Hi yes a USB port but I was charging my ecig battery as I took the battery out of the holder that's when the noise happened I will open and have a look and upload pics thanks
