Does the copper-tape surrounding the digitizer have to replaced.
I have disassembled my iPod for a front-panel replacement, and am unsure if the copper-tape surrounding the digitizer must be replaced.
Is this a good question?

Browse Our StoreI don't think that it is strictly required when replacing the front panel - it might be there to eliminate RF interference around the digitizer connector. We have a 4th Generation Touch that we use for testing components that doesn't have the tape around the connector and it operates just fine.
