Booting with 3 beebs after apple logo, replaced ram but stil no succes

Hello everyone,

When my GPU stopped working i removed the motherboard for inspection.

I re-flowed my GPU with flux and it works, i can acces the boot utility.

But when i put my OSX lion dvd in and the apple logo appears it start beeping 3 times.

I switched many different kinds of RAM and still no succes.

Can anyone help me with this problem? Maybe a component has died?

Let's start out with correctly identifying your machine. I believe it is this one:

Apple iMac "Core i5" 3.1 27-Inch (Mid-2011) Specs

Identifiers: Mid-2011 - MC814LL/A - iMac12,2 - A1312 - 2429

As the only 3.1 GHz machine in 2012 was a 21.5"

Next well find the exact RAM that is supposed to go into it.

As to the problem, I suspect a failed or contaminated RAM slot.

I want you to pull all but one stick. Boot the machine to make sure the stick is good. Then start moving that know stick to the other slots till you get a failure.

Thank you Mayer for your reply!

I removed every bar of RAM except for one.

The first one failed so did the other three.

I did the same with the other slots and all the bars got the beeps...

When i run the diagnostics when pressing Option-D i got no errors.

ELPIDA 2GB 2Rx8 PC3-10600S-9-10-F1

Machine numbers: A1312, 2429 I believe it’s 2011!

There were three EMC 2429. The only difference was the CPU speed. Here's the slowest

Apple iMac "Core i5" 2.7 27-Inch (Mid-2011) Specs

Identifiers: Mid-2011 - MC813LL/A - iMac12,2 - A1312 - 2429

It uses:

RAM Type: PC3-10600 DDR3 Min. RAM Speed: 1333 MHz

Details: Supports 1333 MHz PC3-10600 DDR3 SO-DIMMs (204-pin).

Standard RAM: 4 GB Maximum RAM: 32 GB*

Details: By default, 4 GB of RAM is installed as two 2 GB SO-DIMM modules. Two slots free.

I would test it out with the PC3-10600 DDR3 original sticks if you have them.

Well it worked for 3 years, but i tried the original RAM in one slot.
