Try removing your new ink cartridges and cleaning the interface where the cartridge connects to the printer. It is not uncommon for inkjets to build up old ink and debris at the cartridge/printer interface. There are usually contact pads where the ink cartridge inserts into the printer. These contact pads get dirty over time and cause bad communication between the cartridge and the printer. Clean these contact pads with rubbing alcohol. 70% rubbing alcohol is fine. I would suggest using Q-tips. You want to avoid using any paper product that leaves behind debris, like a tissue or some low quality paper towels. Ink can get very messy, so be prepared to lay down unwanted newspaper on your work area so you don't stain clothing / your table.

Good Luck!
