I am starting to get coloured patches on the screen.

I have started getting colour patches on my tv screen. they are a pale blue .

The first one was low down to the right. About four square inches.

The second appeared a few months later on the left and slightly smaller.

The third is about six or seven square inches and is left of center and a third of the way up the screen.

I can still see the screen quite well but I am wondering what is going wrong and should I start saving my pennies for a new TV.

BTW it is a Samsung UE40H5500

@willcallhimfred could be an issue with the main board (most likely) or the t-con board (unlikely) as well as wiring issue (loose or frayed connectors and cables). Of course the big one here is a bad panel. Unplug your set and remove the back. Check all of your boards for obviously damaged components like domed looking or leaking caps. (Samsung has a real issue with that). You can always post some good images of your boards with your question so that we can see what you see.
