Phone displays false water damage water damage and intermittent usb pr

Recently the phone has been displaying usb connection when the cord is not physically inside the port. Initially, the phone displayed moisture inside the port and promts the user to extract any liquid inside the port prior to charging the device. An important note about this issue is that no water was present when the issue was initially noticed. Methods of "drying" the device were implemented. Rice and canned air techniques temporarily solved the issue. Attempting to use another usb cord has no effect on this issue. Other threads have suggested to clean the port with alcohol and toothpicks however I am hesitant to anytype of liquid cleaning because I am a novice at this type repair. Given the situation, this suggests that their is an issue with the mechanism that senses water in the usb port and the software that has to do with this port.

So, I don't know what to do from here. I can send the phone to LG and have them look at it but i really like the phone beside the issue that I have posted here; everything else about the phone is excellent. Before I start to seriously consider opening the phone I want to exhaust all possible routes of fixing this issue before I have to send the phone anywhere.

@elshroom this will not get better with time or with experimenting. Since this is practically a new phone under warranty, you want to go ahead and make use of that. Take it to LG and let them fix this. If you try to mess with it you will most certainly void your warranty.
