does it starve out or flood out?

by

Pretty sure its starving out. It starts right back up when I choke it. Problem here is, I replaced the carb. On it when the fuel solenoid went out

It’s done this ever since.

I’m also pretty sure I have everything back in the right place but Im thinking maybe a spring or something popped off.

On some engines, the adjustment scew on the side of the carb, is an "air" adjustment, not gas fuel adj. If it's too far out, the carb, is getting too much air and feeding the engine a lean mixture. Choking it blocks air from coming it so getting a richer mixture.

If the mixture is too rich, (as it is fully choked) it will cause the engine to run rough and blow black smoke.

My craftsman YT4000 riding mower just replaced the fuel pump, but the choke seems to need adjustment. I see a screw but idk what that is exactly . Any suggestions where I can actually not be stuck on full choke only to run
