Display flickering in pink/red?

So the display on my Macbook started to flicker in pink/reddish every now and then. I hooked up a second display and everything is fine there, even when it's flickering on the Macbook screen.

From my research I guess this could be either the display cable or the inverter board?

Or could it also be the logic board?

Should I replace the cable first and then move on to the inverter board?`

Your display has reached just about its end of life. Time to replace it.

Here's a new one, used ones can be had for less:

So you mean I have to replace the whole LCD display unit?

No just the guts.

Ok, before I order any spare parts I just want to make sure that the display is the actual problem.

How do you exclude the other parts like the inverter?

Then Google Pink monitor,
