Is it possible to build a functional Xbox 1 out of parts?

Would it be possible to put together a nonworking xbox 1 out of other non-functioning xbox 1's? And if so are there types of damaged xbox's I should avoid, like water damage, or anything else?

Sure can! Just that the motherboard on the optical disk drive and the main motherboard are paired, so you'll have to keep those together. Otherwise, you may have to go through the difficult process of formatting the HDD, and I certainly wouldn't buy water damaged Ones (Pun intended). I personally have bought a couple of Xbox's for about $70 each. One needed de-currupting of the HDD and the other needed a brand new drive. I plan on selling them for about $130. Not worth it for the task of reformating the Xbox's drive.
