Liquid damaged repaired iPhone 6 stops charging when screen turns off.

Seems to be no info on the internet about this.

I guess this would be a partially faulty charging ic gone bad from liquid damage?

It charges up fine if the screen is turned on but not when the screen is turned off.

I have almost the same problem, water damaged iPhone 6S. I got the phone working but the battey drains even though it’s connected to the charger. Tried replacing the Batttery and charger port many times with no luck. It seems like it’s a problem with the motherboard for me.

Let you know if I find a solution.

Sorry Ben, I just saw this; you should have tagged me.

This may be due to one of the "Alive" lines. You should check out PMU_TO_PHOTON_ALIVE (FL2050) or SYS_ALIVE_TIGRIS (PP1V8_SDRAM / XW1401) to see if they or their associated circuits are okay.

Currently having a friend take a look at this board, he usually does touch ic and charging ICS so I'll report back here when he fixes it.

Thanks...yeah, I'm curious because I've seen this kind of question float around before but I've never had one do it for me.
