Beer spilled on touchpad/keyboard. Opened and dried but half working

Hey guys, my laptop's model is Lenovo IDEAPAD Z510

Beer spilled on keyboard/touchpad and I knew it next morning when I woke up, I could open only keyboard, took it off and dried but couldn't do the same for the touchpad(buttons) and they both don't function normally. I ordered a new keyboard, but I need urgent help to fix touchpad.

Thanks in advance

Hi @misirzada ,

Here is a link to the service manual for your IdeaPad.

My interpretation of the manual suggests that to gain access to the touchpad you would nearly have to disassemble the entire unit.

Here is a link to just one supplier of the touchpad. Searching online doesn't give too many suppliers and interestingly there is no part number for it in the service manual. There is however a part number for the upper case, 90203969. If you search online for a Lenovo Z510 upper case you'll get suppliers of the upper case with touchpad (beware some are without it)

Hopefully this is of some help.

Hi @jayeff

Thank you so much. I'll disassemble as I get free time this week. If I can't fix it, I'll comment here again.
