mdolf67 across the screen implies horizontal lines. Those could be a bad panel issue. This should however not stop you from turning it on. If that is what you mean by "cut on" If you mean something different by that you want to post some pictures of what your screen shows (lines and all) with your question. Your problem is likely a loose connector or bad solder joint or failed board but it will depend on what you can show us.
