Help with the iPhone 5c repair

Hi, I've been attempting to repair an iPhone 5c that had been dropped. The screen was cracked, so I bought a screen and LCD with digitalizer repair set. I replaced the screen, along with the battery, and I haven't gotten anything except a black screen. No sound, lights, or anything. I can't think of what else could be wrong. I did, however, notice the ambient light sensor was damaged, but I read that it's not necessary for a phone to run. Could that be it? I've tried everything I could think of online, I've done the hold down power and home button trick, I've tested the flex cables many times, made sure they were all secure, etc. I'm hoping it's not damage to anything irreplaceable like the logic/mother boards. Any other help, ideas, or suggestions will be appreciated. Thanks.

does the backlight work, you should see this if the screen is lifted up, also it could be possible damage to the logic board as it was dropped

No, the screen does not light up at all. I'm beginning to fear logic board damage.

@jifpeanuts double check the battery work. Make sure that there are no components that are missing near the battery connector etc.

It sounds like you may have been sold a dead screen - it's not unknown. Take (or send) it back where you got it and they can test it, and give you a replacement if it is dead. Meanwhile, try refitting the old screen, maybe even the old battery (though I can't see what good that would do). Does it then still do as much as it did?
