I followed all the instructions on the rear camera replace and once phone was put back on, the camera does not work and the home button does not work....never had a problem with the home button...
it seems like a software issue?.....do i need to do a hard start?...or a restore?..

You can a always do a force restart. But software probably isn't your issue. If all you did was remove the display then try power cycling. That or I would guess you've damaged the home button cable. This is not a common issue for this phone

Did you keep track of the screws in the shield covering the flex cables and get each one put back in it's own place? Have you also looked carefully around the connectors for the camera and home button on the logic board for any components that may have been damaged or missing?
Does your flashlight work and your front camera?

Michael and All...thank you for your responses, our issue was traced to a wrong camera ordered....we just ordered the correct part and it is soon to arrive....at that point and once we open this phone again we will also look at all the connections to the logic board as most likely the HB got disconnected when the phone was last worked on.....Thank you!!
