Large part of keyboard on the left side not working

I have looked at some of the questions asked on this site. I have come to think it is my digitizer but I have not dropped it in any way. No cracked glass, etc. Part of the keyboard on the left hand side just stopped working about a week ago. The e, s, x. Is also some what hard to "slide" on. Can the digitizer just stop working correctly for no reason? No damage at all to the phone.

Any advice, solutions. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Oh also I have rebooted, have the latest software and I also restored. None of this helped.

My first solution would be to open and check all of the plugs are firmly connected. Then I would replace the front panel assembly.

For the part look here:

I have the same problem!! The left side is non-op. When I turn it on it's side horizontally, the keyboard goes wacko.

replace screen with digitizer instead of full front assembly, its a bit more work but saves a lot of money
