home button not responding as it should

Dear

On my iPhone 6 the home button isn't responding as it should.

Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't and I need to press it a couple of times before the screen lights up or whatever it needs to do at that time.

It just happened, didn't drop it, didn't break anything.

I decided to replace it with a new one.

Cause I was thinking it has something to do with wearing down over the years of using it. Can imagine that the button wears down pressing it over and over again.

But when I replaced it with the new one, it was better for a few days and now the new one is also not responding for 100%, more like 50%.

FYI: With the new one, my touch id doesn't work anymore clearly but never really used it anyway so that's not an issue for me.

Any ideas/experiences?

Changed the home button, back plate, software and nothing helped.

In the beginning, after changing the back plate, it was better but after like a few days it was back to its old self and the home button 70%-90% of the time not working/responding.

No idea what to fix anymore except maybe the logic board but I rather buy a new phone then lol!

Are there any signs of corrosion or liquid damage on the home button cable, home button extension cable or home button connector on the logic board?

That's the only thing I can think of that would cause this. If there is liquid damage then cleaning the connectors with 99% isopropyl alcohol brushing may help.

No, not really.

FYI: I missclicked and now this is the chosen solution...

If you have tried a new Home button, restored the software through Itunes...then most likely it is the shield on the back of the LCD that has the Home button ribbon cable that plugs into the Logic Board.

Look at steps 26 to 36 . If this part and the home button assembly does not fix it, it could be a board level issue.
