Can always try taking it apart and putting it in dried rice.

@mattbufton Rice? Really? Not on iFixit! It was determined a long time ago that this is a myth and rice does not do anything. You do want to revise your answer.

Has worked for some people, could be a good place to start no need to assert your superior phone knowledge. @oldturkey03

"Has worked for some people" nope! Never! Definitely not trying to assert your superior phone knowledge" just sticking with proven facts. Time to get rid of the rice myth!

@oldturkey03 Well it is common knowledge that it has worked in the past and it has worked for my girlfriend when she dropped it in the bath.

I think what @oldturkey03 is trying to get across to the community at large is that if your girlfriends phone worked after a swim in the tub, it was not because of the rice. You know the saying, "correlation does not imply causation". The rice can't pull out any water from/through the phone...that's not the way rice or any other desiccant works. So what ends up happening is that the water naturally evaporates and depending on the type of water and how much of it got into the phone, it leaves mineral deposits which can cause corrosion, short circuits etc. If it does that in critical areas, the phone is compromised. Ultimately, that's what determines if a phone will work after the "rice trick". You could have left the phone on the counter and gotten the same result.
