touch id home button

iv got an issue with a 6s . the touch id works fine fingerprint everything like that all spot on but the home button itelf has stopped responding or works on occassion

cand you seperate the 2 items and replace just the home button . as in transfer the touch id sensor over to a new button or are the 2 one and the same ?

Theoretically yes, but I don't see how it's feasible. And that sounds like water damage on the home button connector itself.

Sometimes you can clean it with just isopropyl alcohol brushing over the connector and that may fix it.

the screen got broken and gradualy the button has become unresponsive since then . maybe liquid got in thru the broken screen. even with the new screen fitted its still the same . il try cleaning the connections on the button itself. was just thinking you could transfer one over to a new button .

I have never hear of anyone successfully separating and replacing the actuator from the Home Button while retaining Touch ID. I'd love to be proven wrong though. I would try Ben's suggestion for a good cleaning.
