I replaced battery with a battery that screwed up my phone

So i ordered a battery for my Iphone and replaced the current battery in it. As far as doing the replacement it went very smoothly. When everything was put back together I started up the phone and there were vertical bars across the screen and there was nothing about the phone that was working at all. When I took the phone back apart, i read the battery writing and both the WHR and the APN didn't match. It was then i realized i was sent the wrong part. I put back in the old battery and there was no change. Just bars across the screen. Is my phone salvageable? If so how do I go about fixing it or is there a way to at least get my files off of the device?

Answer this question I have this problem too

Can't say for sure but I would try another screen with the right battery. Hopefully the damage didn't go very far.

Normally, bars across the screen is lcd damage (or on the cable) possibly it's been damaged when removed.

As mentioned above, try a new screen, when you unplug the battery, hold the power button down a few seconds to make sure everything is "drained" of power inside the phone. I've seen this cure some issues before as well as home&power button reset.

Best of luck
