Broken gear tooth in scanner

Hello, I noticed that whenever I turn on my printer, it makes this very loud banging sound. I managed to narrow it down to a broken tooth on the rack the scanner light goes across, as shown in the picture. Is there a way to replace it or get it repaired? Also, this isn't the wireless model, but there is no device listing for the plain one.

I'm not sure about replacing the part, but the answer in this thread (Which glue will work best to repair plastic dome lid locking part?) has tips on repairing plastic things. It's easier in this case as it's not food-related, so the options to glue it are much more abundant.

Thanks for the reply! Not sure that that helps though since there isn't really anything left to glue back in place, it looks like the tooth just disintegrated over time or something, as it is the tooth that the light bar parks on.

I see. You could rebuild it with the liquid plastic welding stuff. Otherwise, you might try some Sugru: https://sugru.com/ or [linked product missing or disabled: IF145-171].

Though I'm not sure how well Sugru would do on such a small thing.
