When using System recovery media disc for windows 7 . The laptop seems to get stuck at setup is starting. It stays there for over an hour. I tried to reboot the same thing happened.

Hi @sassy5713,
check if the disc if it has been deteriorated, scratches, etc.
if you have another usb dvd drive, connect it and try booting from the usb dvd drive.
sometimes the laptop optical disk drive might be having issues, or you can try using a lens cleaner to clean it.
for me, i will also test my HDD and RAM before proceeding to install the OS.
