OEM Front Face Camera Proximity Light Sensor Flex Cable and Display

Recently I had replaced my LCD screen and found I needed to replace my Front Face Camera Proximity Light Sensor Flex Cable because my speaker and front facing camera was no longer working. I purchase one from ebay (bad mistake) and everything but the Ambient Light Sensor worked, so I contacted Apple support and they ran a diagnostics and found that the Sensor failed. Now I am trying to get a refund for this, because not only did the first one fail but the replacement also failed the diagnostic test.

They are trying to tell me that the OEM Front Face Camera Proximity Light Sensor Flex Cable only works with the original LCD display. The issue I see, with them calling it an OEM, is that it does not have Apple's Logo on the cable like to original has.

I would like to know if this is true that the Cable must only be used with original LCD screen, or if I am correct and they are trying to blow smoke up my tail pipe?

That is false.

I have replaced dozens upon dozens of aftermarket proximity+front camera+ambient light sensors back into OEM Apple screens and they work perfectly fine.

May I ask what model iphone you are repairing?

This is for my iPhone 6s . Only thing is this is not an OEM screen. I had to replace the screen because it was shattered. I believe I damaged the original cable when I removed it from the old LCD.

Yes that is what I believe happened. Try a new one. Apple is not telling the truth with the statement they have given you.

Contact the customer service for a refund or a new product. The electronic product alway has a warranty period time.
