Battery not holding charge!

I changed the battery but it still does not hold a charge for more than a day. I have also noticed it would completely discharge. For example I use it as my alarm clock and the other morning the alarm went off and the phone died. This is confusing as it is not happening all the time. I hope it's not the logic board :-(

stevenoneil, which OS are you running, any recent updates and is your phone jailbroken?

I see you got some good people working on this :-)and I am not sure why you think it would be your logic board. Other than having a perceived short battery life there does not seem to be anything real wrong with it. I'd follow the instructions by pollytintop first and see if you can minimize the drain on your battery.

4.2.1(8C148) and no it is not jail broken.

check you've turned off push notifications etc, turn off gps/location services for apps. If you have recently downloaded an app and then this happens try removing app/updating. Select screen save/power save settings.

What was your battery life like on a normal day before you changed the battery? Mine lasts about a day with normal use...

Bad news to tell you it is the logic board, and it's drawing too much current. I'm still trying to work out how to repair it, I'd like to know what components need replacing if its possible too. Or else u can buy an extended battery case for your iphone.
