What causes an iPhone LCD to flicker and what are the best fixes?

We often conduct iPhone repairs that lead to the device's LCD to start flickering (the light shutters, specifically towards the edge of the display). This has occurred in a variety of circumstances. For example, when conducting a battery replacement, when conducting a charging port replacement, etc. In all instance the screen is not removed to conduct these repairs.

Most of the time, a screen replacement will fix the flickering issue. In some cases however even replacing the screen has not fixed the issue.

Can anyone provide insight into why this occurs and some tips on how to fix it without changing the screen?

Any advice would be appreciated!

Usually when the screen has not been replaced before it is a case of the LCD ribbon cable not being plugged in properly.

Replug it and apply pressure on. The plugged in cable a bit.

That has always ended up finding it for me. But sometimes it can be a faulty screen instead if the screen is a new replacement one.
