Why doesn't my phone ring even though the volume is on and all the way

I have the volume on and I checked all my settings to make sure, and yes everything is on and turned up by my phone will not ring

Options

when you can hear music from your phone speaker there is no damage. then you should try to reset the device with itunes.

when you cant hear music then speaker is broken
