Why do the speakers buzz loudly? Almost unable to hear radio.

Speakers buzz loudly unable to hear radio, why?

Update (10/03/2017)

THANKS otk03.

Took it apart - unable to locate any leaking or domed looking capacitors. Everything looks OK to me (?), though a bit dusty from 20+ years of use. Took some pics, not very tech savvy though, so... You'll notice the board looks a bit different, if that matters. Does anything stand out?

Any thoughts?

THANK YOU -- GREATLY appreciate your help.

Could be a multitude of reasons, but a failed electrolytic capacitor is maybe the likeliest. See https://therestartproject.org/wiki/Basic... for an indication of how to recognise it.

@fbd use this guide Bose Wave Radio AWR1-1W Screen Replacement to get into your Bose Radio and then check the board for leaking or domed looking capacitors. If you can, post some images of your boards with your question. Use this guide Bose Wave Radio AWR1-1W Screen Replacement for that. It will allow us to see what you see.
