LCD Problems Inverter, Cable, or LCD

I have a Macbook Pro first gen that is having screen issues. I have ruled out that the logic board is bad it puts out through the video out. I am wanting to get it fixed but I need to know if it is the inverter or the cable or LCD. I can get the inverter and cable fairly cheap but the LCD is quite expensive. I would also hate to replace the first two and then still have to replace the LCD. If any one can help that would be appreciated. Here is a link to the picture.

I doubt this is an inverter issue. If the picture changes when the display is moved I would replace the Display Data Cable. With it working on an external, this appears to be a LCD failure. Here's how I replace it: MacBook Core 2 Duo LCD & Inverter A1181 (fast method) Replacement
