80gb Classic iPod after replacing battery it only shows 25gb?

I replaced the battery in my Ipod and now it shows only approximately 25gb for an 80gb Ipod all music had been cleared upon connecting with Itunes. I don't understand what happened?

@all4him what does iTunes tell you is occupying the space? Your HDD is an 80GB and now it shows 25GB? What files does it tell you are on your drive?

Does that mean you reformatted the iPod via iTunes? Or iTunes cleared it out by itself? Or...?
