Partial power when I touch this fuse '470' with multimeter?

So my macbook shows no signs of powering on when i plug it in. I tested other components to make sure it is not them, and verified that the problem is with the logic board itself. The charger showed no signs of turning green or orange. When I touched my multimeter to this specific fuse numbered '470', the charger turned green and then orange. However the macbook still does not power up. It could possibly be that i need to replace the keyboard, but I feel that it would automatically turn on at this point.

Can anyone point me in the right direction with this issue, thank you!

@lujanexperience that is not a fuse. That is 47ohm 1/3W 1% resistor in a 805 package. It is part of your DC in and battery connectors circuit. It is most likely a sensing resistor and that is why your "charger turned green and then orange" when you bridge it with your meter. You will need the schematic, the boardview file, a multimeter and a good understanding of reading schematics. @reecee or @tcrs_circuit may be a good resource for you.

Hi @lujanexperience @oldturkey03 is correct about that component. It is part of the charging circuit. However the issue is that if something killed that resistor, your charge controller chip, the ISL6259 is probably dead, as well as the 2 current sense resistors near the ISL chip. Could you help me out with your board's 820-xxxx number? Just comment on this post.

Hi, I also have the same problem on board 820 4924 A. The 470 resistor heats up when the charger is connected. It does not light or see green or orange light. The resistance 470 is observed in brown, if it is replaced the problem is fixed ?. Any suggestions?
