Galaxy S6 Active: Adhesive to maintain waterproofing?

Hi! I need to replace a screen on a Galaxy s6. However, I want the phone to remain waterproof for days like I keep hearing that it is now.

This would, clearly, require some sort of adhesive replacement BEHIND the digitizer; (since I basically have to remove that to replace the glass.)

So my real question here is: What adhesive should I use behind the screen? I can't believe that the abuse that adhesive is going to take - (air exposure, abnormal heat) is going to leave it as well able to resist water as it was at the factory.

So I need some sort of metal-to-metal adhesive that can be pried apart, but applied to the metal and remain waterproof.

Thanks.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

The water resistance is probably long compromised by now anyway, especially on a 4 year old phone. The problem with water resistance is it’s not forever and tends to expire in 2-3 years on most of them due to expired adhesive. It will still be present, but there’s a good chance there’s compromised parts that may leak water into the phone and ruin it.

The problem is there is no way to fully restore it either. Just the act of opening the device to refresh the adhesive ruins it beyond repair. Even authorized repair cannot gaurantee it’ll work once broken - it *has* to go back to the factory and be redone like it was fully assembled to get it all back.

It is nearly impossible to restore it once broken, so I wouldn’t try and chase down preservation and get an Otterbox or treat it as non water resistant. The phone is probably already compromised due to age and opening it will remove what little is likely actually left.

Search for “LCD Front Frame Adhesive Sticker Glue Tape For Samsung Galaxy S6 Active G890” on the usual Chinese online store. That’s where I bought mine ($3.4 for 2 sets). You can also use thin 1mm double sided tape, plus a dab of Kafuter silicon glue in the corners.
