Why does my mac suddenly not recognize my hard drive?

Just installed a new upper case and when I booted it up, everything worked until I turned it off, then when I started it back up, it would no longer recognize the hard drive. I can hear it spinning when I turn it on, but when I go into Disk Utility, where my hard drive should be, it just says L; b[\ /

When I start it up normally, it loads the progress bar then shuts off. Wondering if I need a new cable or what's going on. Upper case was replaced because of previous water damage that rendered the keyboard, touchpad, and power button useless.

Hi @mrpresidentevil, how about running diagnostic (Apple Hardware Test) on your macbook and check for possible issues?
