I got vertical lines and screen split with space on MacBook Pro 2011

Hello,

I got vertical lines and my screen splits sometimes. It happens when i use more applications simultaneously or sometimes only when i open just one application. I tried changing RAM memory but same happened. Tried with external monitor and it happens on my macbook, external monitor is ok though.

It also reboots by self, and sometimes i have to shut down and it takes time to get into OS and function normally.

This is not your LVDS cable. This is characteristic of a dying graphics chip. Very common on this model. An LVDS cable will not fix your issue.

And what can i do to repair this problem?

by

The only way is to replace the board. We cannot get good chips to replace the existing one.

Sounds as if the lvds cable going from your mainboard to the lcd is failing.. if the system is rebooting randomly I’ll also advise looking at your gpu.. that model was known for failure along those lines..

When i screenshot my display(when this is happening) it displays everything normal :/

by

Yes, that would be so because if either the lvds or lcd is at fault the mainboard is sending out the image correctly but the cable or lcd is not interpreting the info correctly.. the sad thing is that I’ve seen similar issues like these resolved with a reseat of the cable or replacement of the cable.. on the other hand I’ve seen the Gpu fail and the system no longer usable.. get it properly looked at..

So you're saying that the cable or the lvcds or lcd is at fault ?

Is there any solution to repair by myself just to get the right parts?

by

Yes, from what it sounds like.. however, please do your research as most times in my experience just the disassembly of that screen to get to the lvds is such a pain.. if it’s at all possible to get your hands on a screen and cable if just to test first because the individual parts may be affordable but there are so many components to take into consideration that it may not be worth it.. if you’re willing to search and take a risk on used, you may be able to get a complete used screen assembly kit for about 100usd..

This is not a LVDS issue. Do not waste your time changing it because it won't work. Just because it outputs on external doesnt mean the GPU is ok.
