home button problems HELP Please

I have a 3gs I have replaced the Battery, screen, LCD all working except home button and the battery says its not holding charge. my main question is even though I have trailed for answers does the home button connector go to the solder points or the 2 gold plates and one orange and one white water indicator do I persevere or give up HELP! please

home button makes contact with the top of the dock connector. If you are having battery problems and home button problems I would take a good look at the dock connector/connector 4.

you could take a look at the underside of the home button.. the gold prongs get flattened by usage and by fiddling about with the front display/mishandling. try lifting them up, if that doesn't work then you may need to replace the flex (you'll need to take all your new screens off.... sorry)

the cheapest option is 1)cleaning all your contacts

2) checking the prongs

3)replacing the flex

4)replacing the dock connector.
